Oh?

It's a liberal issue?

Please do regale us with stories of just how much conservatives have done to reduce our foreign aid spending in the last 50 years.

How much has our unconditional support of Israel cost the United States? At the very least it has cost us our credibility in the region.

And you think it would improve our credibility if we abandoned our allies?

IF people are only our ally when they're paid, are they truly allies or simply bought and paid for mercenaries?

Ending all foreign aid is not wise. First of all, it's a tiny portion of the budget - we need entitlement reform to truly address the fiscal crisis. Second, we cannot retreat from our role as the world's superpower. Too much depends on a strong United States abroad. Third, cutting off Israel would have disastrous consequences.

Yes, people are horribly short sighted about cutting foreign aid. I know it tickles the ears, but the amount of money is tiny, and the concequences could be disasterous, and could end up costing us hundredfold.

WHY?

How does being the word's superpower, and by default the world police benefit us?

aide in like supporting dictators right?
quite stupid if you ask me.

So no it won't.

it just means we dont bribe people to be our friends.
so what we stop giving them free stuff and they are no longer our friends
because we cannot afford it?

some friend.
sorry that means they are gold diggers not our allies or friends for that matter.

friends help each other in time of need. give and take relationships not we are the only ones
giving to them.

what do they give us? why they let our big corporations do what they want.
so why do not the big corporations bribe them instead of our government.
