A law was enacted that the American public doesn't want.

Compare that to the definition of fascism:
a political regime that exalts nation above the individual, consists of a centralized government, and forcibly suppresses opposition

dictatorship:
a government in which total power is held by a dictator or a small group

Are you suggesting that every law be put to a referendum? That would certainly limit government involvement in people's lives.

The American public voted in the people that enacted the law.

Im sorry the Reps are NOT paying for that stupidity- the govt workers are. Specially the lower paid ones, still paying child care, gas and have not clue when the money will come in... They lose nothing! that why they can play the games... nothing off their skin---and elections they have enough twisted ways to make themselves look like hereos at election time.

Yes, especially true when leaders create chaos and then rush in to "solve" the problem, just so they can look like heroes. Ever see that happen?
