I found it disturbing when groups that use snakes in their religious practice have been told that's illegal. I think that's ridiculous. If they want to use snakes, peyote, mushrooms, cannabis, as part of a religious experience, the gov't shouldn't have anything to say about it.
People are responsible for themselves, the gov't is not responsible for us, or the decisions we freely make.
If you think drugs leads to spirituality, you may be a little off. They can offer a faster track off this plan -Michael Jackson, Corey Monteith, John Belushi, Judy Garland and dozens of others have opted for a less than spiritual experience.
Those are people who have abused drugs.
You know how many alcoholics there are in this country? Did you know that drunk driving accounts for 30% of traffic deaths in this country?
Isn't it some Christian faiths that serve wine with communion? Was it not Jesus who turned water into wine?
The use of drugs that does not harm other people should be legal.
Whether it has a connection to a religious practice has nothing to do with it. You might familiarize yourself with some of the relevant Supreme Court precedent on this topic, and particularly the concept of neutral laws of general applicability.
That was one of the better non-answers you have given so far. Let me ask again, are you just trying to justify your repeated drug use?
