I believe one of the easiest way to do so would be to reduce our energy costs. There are many natural alternatives to our current means of producing energy. They won't produce a huge profit, but they will lower everyone's expenses. I believe our taxes should stay the same so in that scenario it would be a net gain for American citizens.

Please no partisan banter. This is a non-partisan issue. All ideas welcome though Any topic is fair game on where we can lower our expenses and/or prices.
Americans dont own their energy, Corporations that produce energy are not doing so for the good of America. Fuel/enegry is a commodity.

The American federal government is not in the business of drilling and refining fuel oil.

the American consumer recieves royalties from energy producers for their production of the natural resources gleened.

The federal government really has no conrtoll over what energy producers do with the natural reasorces the produce.

Please name a "natural" source of energy that is cheaper than coal, natural gas, and nuclear. Solar and wind both carry far higher costs to produce a kilowatt.

Uh.

Oops!

Quality has not only declined, but plummeted, especially as prices have declined.

But heck, someone who "loves his country" is probably okay with that "rush to the bottom", right? We could have the cheapest national defense, the most cut-rate banking system, and we can go bargain-hunting for federal highway bridge maintenance. Right?

"The American federal government is not in the business of drilling and refining fuel oil."

But, it DOES or does NOT issue the permits to drill or refine.

If they DON"T issue the permits you CANNOT drill or refine.

there are many things that can be done to lower costs, alternative energy is only one of them.

1: get government out of the way of business by getting rid of excessive, duplicate, and unnecessary regulations

2: lets reform the tax code to simplify it, and eliminate a lot of the garbage that lets some corporations get away with not paying taxes, and others paying more than they should

3: lets get rid of obamacare, and put something in place that allows for real competition for health care dollars, and let hospitals and clinics compete for those dollars. lets let the free markets work like they should.

these are not partisan political ideas, they are reality. competition is what is going to get prices down, not regulations. and we dont have to compromise trying to conserve the environment, or the safety of the consumer either. but we do have to balance regulations to what is good for all equally.

Simplify the tax code and make it more beneficial to keep businesses here. The tax code, my God. How many times does it need to be said. Yet nothing is ever done.
Get rid of the self serving establishment on both sides. They have ruined this country.

if you lower the price of things, you will necessarily lower the tax collection and thus there is less money for the government.

The better option is to make the economy grow in size and scope while holding down inflation below the growth rate.
