Funny how conservatives are so critical of the individual mandate now when they (and the insurance lobby) were the brain trust behind it.
Funny also how in any other thread many conservatives would be slagging this lady as a dependent class parasite instead of feigning outrage over her plight.

No it is not. It is revenue exceeding expense.

And no they are not 100s of billion under water. That is a discussion of unfunded liabilities by many CA governments. It is a long term concern by only part to the state.

Why should Gov Corbett have to expand Medicaid in order for this new tax to work?

Don't use insurance or Medscare & your office visit can be as low as $5 cash.

That's not true. All plans, new and old, have to meet the new standards, period. There is no such thing as a non-compliant plan.

Obviously obamacare is just another huge program meant to make more people dependent on the government.

"Obviously", the right wing is against government until they need it. Most are too stupid to even know which parts they take advantage of every day of their ignorant lives. So amusing to see how many parts of it the right wing was whining about being shut down until piece by piece were re-opened. The righties just need a target to hate so that they are relevant in any discussion, debate or election. The politicians love this malleable base, after all, where would the corporate puppets be without them! They even have these folks believing that the top percent needs more money and corporate welfare shoveled up to them so that a few crumbs trickle down to the masses...if that much. Yeah, that really has made lots of sense.

It is not an exaggeration to say that a good portion of the improvement in the quality of Americans’ lives during the last 100 years has been due to the efforts of our federal, state, and local governments. Consider, for instance, the wide variety of vital roles and functions that big government plays in our society. Things like providing roads and sewers and other essential infrastructure facilities, preventing economic depressions, eliminating horrible diseases like polio and smallpox, ensuring drinkable water and breathable air, dispensing justice, providing retirement security, preventing business abuses, sponsoring stunning scientific breakthroughs, feeding the hungry, recalling unsafe products, educating our children, reducing workplace injuries and deaths, responding to disasters and emergencies, preventing crime, protecting civil liberties, rescuing endangered species, ensuring the safety of drugs, guarding our national security, caring for the elderly, and so on.

Define "the tax working".

Right, so i those cases where non-compiiant plans are discontinued (rather than made compliant), people have to change plans.
