Picking on "ghetto people" is not politically expedient.

That is an absurd argument.

Are cars designed to kill? No. Do accidents happen? Yes.

You might as well compare guns to bathtubs, 'cuz people can slip and fall in a bathtub and kill themselves.

Yes, if a gun is used carelessly, it can kill people.

Guess what? If a gun is used with great care, it can kill people.

The purpose of a car is to get you from one place to another.

The purpose of a gun is to kill.

I bed to differ: There plenty of housewives who would say the purpose of a car is to mow down your husband and his mistress! ;-)

Oh, but they have compared guns to bathtubs. Bathtubs and bees and forks and lightening and swimming pools and candy a child can choke on.

Well, if saves just one child we should ban swimming pools.

The purpose of a gun is to fire a projectile. When those moving projectiles are used to kill something it's not always a bad thing either, I've killed many deer and have never once felt guilty about it.

Good, lets ban felons, drug addicts and those with mental issues from having drivers licenses and being able to drive, it will help reduce traffic congestion.

People who live in ranch style homes rarely die from falling down stairs.

Ban homes with stairs.

No homes with stairs!

Sure, some of those lives would have been saved had the victims been armed.

The problem is, we can't keep drugs from crossing our borders. We can't keep humans from crossing illegally. We will never be able to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Once that problem is solved, then I'm all for gun control.

Even Britain is arming some of her police because they are experiencing more gun violence from their miscreants.

It's sad. I don't love guns. I just don't see a practical way out of this dilemma.
