In some cases a husband can demand sex against his wife's wishes. In fact marital rape was not punishable in this country. In other countries it's not viewed as an offense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marital_rape
In a way, I can see marriage as a form of prostitution. The husband is the john and he pays her--in fact women have been encouraged to have sex with their husbands even if the wife did not want to! and when the wife is no longer with him, she experiences downward mobility.
I maybe wrong, but it's interesting to see how some ladies feel their marriage is a form of status and a way to NOT work. In fact, I know a wife who, often, boasts I don't have to work, my husband works.
In other societies marriage is, almost, essential.

Most people that I have as clients, especially those under 35, I see more of a equal standing on power - but most of these women are educated and have professional jobs. I would say education is the key to not being in an unequal marriage.

I wasn't going to reply to this BS thread. My wife is my best friend. She goes where i go too. So far she likes it that way. But she isn't like any other American woman. She avoids make up, and likes the mts and the woods even in dead winter.
My wife likes to drink beer, watch football (49er's won, I'm getting lucky tonight), shoot guns and go hunting. Plus I think she likes sex more than I do. 22years and counting.
