I just watched a Ken Burns special of the Dust Bowl. In the 1930's, the government could not get the people of the southern plains to take money or charity of any kind. They had to create the WPA and give the people jobs, oftentimes to do projects that were not needed to get them to take money so their children wouldn't starve.

People back then would starve before they would steal or take money they didn't work for. Now look at this. This is a disaster.

The 60 year liberal onslaught on America's moral fabric is paying off nicely.

There's no defending this kind of behavior at all. It's disgraceful.

Honestly, Wal-Mart NEVER should have made an exception to anyone. If the system is down, then the system is down. When it comes back up, then the people can purchase food. This is exactly how I would expect people who did not earn what they are spending to behave. Sadly, they are just like the politicians in this regard.

Consequences.
Since when are our society's takers ever held accountable and expected to suffer the consequences of their irresponsible and greedy acts?

Welfare has gone way overboard, now its just an excuse for able body folks to leech off the gov. Shameful.

The problem is having Obamacare where everyone has to pay more for health insurance so a family can now get affordable insurance for a member with a pre-existing condition sets the same bad example, but nobody will see it that way.

Okay, the subs aren't that great - but the whole roasted chickens could feed a lot of hungry people.
And our disgusting government won't let that perfectly good food go to food banks or soup lines.

Wal-Mart was a complete fool to let these leeches and filthy slobs get away with trying to steal. Hopefully, the amount will be deducted from balances in the future, but you know, without question, that won't happen. THINK OF THE STARVING CHILDREN!

Disgusting people.

Right libs?
And it's not their fault they have 18 kids with no baby daddy in sight.

Disgusting.

I would be ok with letting them starve.

Doesn't this prove that we have to come up with a different system of providing for those who cannot/will not provide for themselves?

Do we want to add fuel to the wildfire of out of wedlock birth that results in crime, moral decay and over crowded prisons or do we want to change things now?

Wow!!! Now...ain't that something. Hard to believe Wal Mart could be that stupid. And, don't these people know tbat the system WILL catch up with them? Yea, sounds like Wal Mart's on the hook here, but so are every one of the rampant people. I am unaware of SNAP benefits that go up as high as some of the people were stuffing in carts. Like the lady with the. 49 cent balance with seven hundred bucks in the cart. Friggin' crazy!!

The losses here have to be staggering. This is plumb serious, and just plain disgusting! Every single one of the people who used their cards here, should have their benefits taken away, and the store management hauled on the carpet with the Feds. There are to many things wrong with this to list.

I would like to see some follow up on how this plays out. Should be...interesting.

It doesn't work that way.

There can be a negative balance for any number of reasons on an EBT Card, including over-payment of benefits or the receipt of unauthorized benefits. Recompense can be pro-rated over a period of time, or lump sum. It works the same as OASI, OADI and SSI. If you're over-paid for any reason, they take it out of your next payment.

Don't be surprised if those people are rioting November 1, because they still have a negative balance on their EBT Cards.

There's a thread on here somewhere about a US Postal Worker being beaten to death by an angry mob for the crime of delivering the welfare checks a few minutes later than normal.

Remembering....
