Utah families on food stamps could be cut off soon | FOX13Now.com

Quote:
“States across the country are being told to stop the supplemental nutrition assistance program for the month of November, pending further notice. That’s according to a letter from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Fox 13 obtained a copy from the Crossroads Urban Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Crossroads says if Utah families don’t get food stamps, they’ll turn to the local food pantries, which are already strapped due to the government shutdown. Homeless people Fox 13 talked to, some who use SNAP, say losing food stamps would mean going hungry.” Fox 13, Salt Lake City, October 14.
Matt Bracken has interesting commentary here:

Bracken: US Department Of Agriculture To Suspend SNAP Program 1 November | Western Rifle Shooters Association

Quote:
Last Saturday’s hours-long EBT “glitch” led to mass panic and near riots in 17 states. Was that just a “warning” from the regime to the GOP to extend his infinite debt ceiling pronto, “or else?” If the EBT system is shut down for even three days, every supermarket will be looted, and riots will sweep our cities that will make 1968 look like a picnic. This is not an accident, this is deliberate.
Interesting times, as the Chinese would say.

Eh, riots mean a good excuse for a police state, nothing wrong with that, right?

"Never let a crisis go to waste", is the attitude of the current administration. Nothing happens by accident, I suspect, so keep your powder dry.

I'm just a young man that recently headed out on his own, I don't have much powder to keep dry in the first place.

Aesop had a parable about a fox, who saw a boar whetting his tusks. He asked the boar why, since no enemies were about, why he would worry about such a mundane task? The moral of the story was "It is to late to whet the sword, when the trumpet sounds". Perhaps, if the opportunity to procure powder and shot were to present itself, one would be wise to capitalize on it, as much as possible.

Good, let the lazy moochers go out and find jobs so we can redirect the money to keep vital National Monuments open.
Let me know when Palin, Bachmann, and Cruz show up to protest these food stamp cuts.
