Until tea party voters and tea party congressman show some balls and cut **** they like, I don't want hear crap about how republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility.
excuse me? There are a handful of real conservatives. Who the hell says they get any say into cuts?
And need I remind you, who was it that said he would go through the budget line by line? OBAMA. In 2008, its 2013 and he really doesn't intend to fulfill that pledge

well according to republicans, obama is nothing but a far-left tax and spend liberal, so who cares what he said about going through the budget line by line. The tea party ran on a platform of cutting spending. If you want to reduce spending, you have to cut the drivers of our debt, Medicare, Medicaid, and social security, and yet tea party congressman have been silent on those issues.

Are you talking about the line item veto? The line item veto is unconstitutional until and unless Congress wants to give the president spending authority (and it isn't clear that they can even do that), tthe President doesn't have line item veto power.

SS doesn't actually add to our debt. The way the SSA was written specifically outlaws deficit funding. More specifically, SS can only pay out what they collect in taxes. Currently, SS can cash in treasury bonds to cover the gap, but once those bonds are redeemed the SS pmts can only match SS collections; that's why the SS pmts will be cut by 28% in about 20 years.

I'm aware that it technically doesn't add to the debt, but because the trust fund has been raided, i assume there are alot of IOU's, but that doesn't matter anyway. The point is, the tea party claims to for reduced spending, but not on **** they like.

The GAO has been submitting reports to 0bama with lots of cutting that could be done, can we at least agree to start there?
Of course, you'd have to stand in opposition to 0bama, because cutting the spending is something he flat out refuses to do, he wants to hit $20 trillion in debt before he leaves office.
It seems to me the whole precept of the teabagger mentality is that of the squeaky wheel. Squeak loud and long enough and someone will appease you.
Or so the thinking goes. Long way from the actual role of government, which is COMPROMISE and DEBATE.
