It's a simple phenomenon and I am not kidding. Cruz shows the traits of a sociopath. Sociopathy is more prevalent than many realize because socipaths can and do, lead what appears to most, normal lives. Sociopaths relate to other sociopaths as they cannot really feel empathy and it is the closest to it that they will come, when they are in the company or in support of other sociopaths. Not bogus...read up on it, it is quite interesting. Ayn Rand was a sociopath and her followers were also like-minded.

What makes you think Cruz is a "follower" of Ayn Rand? I see no mention of Ayn Rand in anything I read about Ted Cruz in his bio.
Cruz is very well educated and a graduate of Princeton University, and graduate of Harvard Law School "with highest honors" (avoiding the Latin term that this forum will not allow).

Not all conservatives have agreed with Ayn Rand's political philosophy, even if they believe in capitalism. William F. Buckley Jr. denounced Ayn Rand, and decided that Rand's hostility to religion made her philosophy unacceptable to his understanding of conservatism.

Cruz is a man who stands on principle. He is an American hero. McCain is nothing but a coward.
We need more real men like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Marco Rubio. Real Americans.
This was a failed effort from the start, if he stood on principle to take sensible action on government spending he could have made his case, what exactly were his principles other than defund ACA, what were his plans. Running on a platform that does nothing but try to bring democracy to a standstill because you don't like ACA is not principle, it's madness. Name one sensible action that Cruz took to make us a better country.

This younger generation of Americans is mind boggling.
For your information, I'm not of "the younger generation," and I am not a member of any "extreme right." What is "extreme" about standing for American freedom, and the ideas of our founders? The extremists are the "Progressives" (Democrats and Republicans like McCain) who are trying to destroy America.
"Progressivism" is warmed over Marxist/socialism.
I also served in Viet Nam. McCain may have been a vet who was held prisioner, but that alone does not make a hero, and much time has passed since those days.
I don't know what kind of man McCain was then, but he is no "man" now, and he is certainly no "hero". He is a weak kneed, "go along to get along" coward, who will not take a stand, and he does not speak for me.
McCain is a traitor to Republican ideas, is no conservative, but is a Progressive, like all the Democrats he stands with.
Only one of those is actually a natural born citizen. The Dems will need Rubio when it comes to the immigration reform.
