They did it civily, it was a peaceful protest. I thought we were entitled to have peaceful protests in our country, well maybe not. They thought they were entitled to see an open air memorial they paid for. Guess they were wrong.

It's called freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to petition for the redress of grievances.

You may want to read through the Constitution again. It applies to EVERYONE, NOT just those with whom you agree.

You should be celebrating that we in this great nation can protest. Too bad the ideologues of the right and left, not to mention the un-elected bureaucracy, seem to believe that they are not bound by the rules that guarantee our freedom.

Ah, but I do.

Your question was in two parts:

Were the riot police with horse on the Mall for Occupy DC. My answer was you would know that they were if you had been theres.

The second part of your question implied that Occupy got to protest on the Mall for a long period of time... well that is obviously correct but I didn't think that it was important to point out that not did they have long term permit, but the freaking Mall wasn't freaking closed because freaking Republicans had shut down government operations?

There was never a Presidential order to arrest vets.

The way the OP paints the picture, one can imagine Obama snearing from the White House, looking at the throng of veterans, ala the Grinch in "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas", and then throwing things around the Oval Office when his shock troops didn't arrest and/or shoot the crowd en masse.

Of course such fiction has no basis in reality, but whatever helps people like the OP sleep at night, I guess.
