Wrong, if McCain hadn't rush to DC to fight for TARP, he might have won. Palin was packing in the crowds and his polls were ahead of Obama and rising after picking Palin.

Then he blew it by proving he was more interested in voting for bailouts than in doing the right thing.

This did hurt him. After McCain/Feingold the odds were extremely low that I could vote for him but after voting for TARP that sealed the deal.

Yes, Palin could draw a crowd. So can Justin Bieber.

I don't want either one of them anywhere near the White House corridors of power.

He might have won 1 or 2 more states, but he still would have lost big.

That sound about right. The press loves Obama. It's like they are afraid of criticize him.

I mean, in the entire party they couldn't find better than Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann and Romney/Ryan? I really thought it must have been a joke, or they were just throwing the game.

Obama is no big shakes. It should have been easy enough to defeat him. The Republicans just didn't put up a single candidate who was viable to anyone who possesses any sense in their brains.

I was kinda disappointed McCain didn't run again.

I wouldn't have voted for him, but I'll never vote for ANY Republican OR Democrat for national office. It still might've been a more interesting game to watch.
Obama is big enough shakes that he's creamed everyone you guys have lined up against him.

And don't be disappointed that McCain didn't run again...he would've gotten eviscerated even worse than before.

No...he still would've lost. Big Time.

I doubt he would of won regardless of who he picked but I think the circus of Palin makes people believe she helped... but he also lost voters because she was a rambling idiot.
The "circus" was only in the minds of liberals. Liberals hate anyone of Faith such as Palin's, and with the strong conservative convictions she has (neither of which McCain shares).

I will repeat that Palin drew huge crowds everywhere she went. These were average Americans who, by and large, share Palin's conservative views on the economy, and government. They were not just Republican voters, but "independents" as well.

It was McCain, and McCain alone that was the reason he lost; his failure to engage Obama on anything substantive; after all, Obama is black, and you cannot attack a black man as it would appear "racist." Those of us who oppose Obama's Leftist policies, and his politics, are still called "racist." One cannot have a debate today without being called "racist."

The second reason for McCain's loss to Obama is the very fact that Obama was black. He was to be our "first black President" (how often we heard that!). It was almost un-American to oppose Obama (and also racist).

Besides, Obama appeared to be "well spoken" and "without a negro dialect" (as Harry Reid said), and he was painted in the liberal media (which is all of the "mainstream" media) as some kind of Mesiah (Chris Mathews said he got a "thrill up his leg!").

The real "straight talk" we got from McCain's campaign was from Palin's lips, not McCain's. And Palin did give it to us straight: Obama was a "community organizer" who had worked for ACORN, and he "palled around with terrorists (Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and others who were his friends), a fact which the mainstream media quickly desputed as they began their Smear Campaign against Palin, enlisting the help of their friends in Hollywood, late night TV, and other no-nothings like perky Katie Couric.

The Sarah Palin the Left sees is their own creation. The real Sarah Palin bears no resemblance to that creation.

Brutally Honest: The un-edited Gibson-Palin Interview transcript

I would comment on the Couric-Palin interview, but the unedited transcript of that interview still hasn't been released.

Questions asked of Obama:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?
Questions asked of Palin:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

Compare And Contrast: Gibson’s Questions Of Obama vs. Gibson’s Questions Of Palin | Say Anything
The only thing right with the McCain-Palin ticket was Palin.
Absolutely.

The Left will never admit that they never bothered (and still don't bother) to ask Obama about his qualifications, which were (and are still) Zero.

Obama had accomplished nothing. He had been a "community organizer" (rabble-rouser), had lied about his education (no one has ever seen his transcripts), was never a Constitutional attorney, or taught Constitutional law, and was not a Professor, but a lecturer.

Much about his life remains hidden today, but we do know that he knew Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn very well (they helped launch his political career, and got him onto the Annenberg board, and made him Chairperson of the CAC [Chicago Annenberg Challenge])

Obama was raised by a Marxist/socialist stepfather, and mentored by communist Frank Marshall Davis. The mainstream media always conveniently ignores these facts, and sidesteps any questioning about Oabma and his past.

Obvious to whom?

I would also point out that donations to his campaign increased substantially during Palin's campaign trail appearances. That is a fact that you leftists love to ignore.

Your disinformation campaign continues today, sadly. Just as your incorrect depictions of the Tea Party movement, and anyone associated with it (Ted Cruz).

The left has become nothing but a well funded "Smear Squad" with money from noted leftists like George Soros and armed with leftist propaganda disguised as "truth" that is published daily in online rags like Media Matters for America (even that title is propaganda), Daily Kos, Democrat Underground, Think Progress, and others.

We have a civil war being waged in this country. Most have not yet recognized it, but many have; e.g. the "Tea Party." It is a battle over the soul of America, our very way of life, and the kind of government we have.
