Why, we'd have alternative sources to take off the pressure, about 250 nuclear plants off the coast of California, and we'd be tapping the offshore oil deposits in the Gulf of Mexico -- if the enviro-nuts would grow brains.

Obviously we should be investing in fast renewable energy. Petroleum is only a patch fix and won't last forever... the oil supply is running low now, we should be looking at alternative renewable energy.. oil can't last forever, so looking for more oil is not a smart alternative. We should rapidly phase out use of gasoline so we don't get severely ripped off by the petroleum companies... Alternative fuel? I don't know... ethanol is NOT a good source as it is not something we can renew fast enough... hydrogen fuel.. we have lots of it but it is very volatile and too dangerous to be around... solar... only if you live in southern texas... wind? Well, the more wind power we take, the less wind there is.. and without wind.. I bet there are consequences for that.... so what renewable energy can we use?? Nuclear, not if you like having nuclear waste buried somewhere nearby that lasts for THOUSANDS of years... I prefer mining other planets myself but that is expensive... an entire vacant planet full of resources would be nice.. but not possible at this time... where to find... where to find...
