When did president Obama ever support a ban on Hand guns in the first place ???
As Illinois state senator he did via a survey in 1996. A spokesman later blamed the survey answer on staff. However, he also said that he supported the DC ban, and presumably also supported the Chicago handgun ban that was in place when he was a Chicago resident and state senator. Or if he didn't, he never said anything nor lifted a finger to get it overturned.
A couple of days ago Russell was detained by the TSA for having a .38 revolver in his carry on. Pres. Obama is on record as supporting a ban on handguns, which would presumably include .38 revolvers Pres. Obama supported the DC hand gun ban. LOTT: Obama's gun ban rhetoric - Washington Times
Mr. Russell apparently felt that it was a good idea for him to have a handgun for protection, yet he enthusiastically supported Obama who would have denied such protection to the great unwashed. It doesn't make sense, unless Russell assumed that he would remain in the privileged class of people still allowed to protect themselves.
They detained Bill Russell for possessing a handgun? This is clearly a racist witch hunt!
Just because many right wingers have some sort of paranoia about Obama "taking our guns" doesn't mean that it is actually going to happen. Many black Obama supporters are gun owner and they are not afraid of him taking their guns. I'm sure Bill Russell is one of them.
My husband is one of them, he is a staunch Obama supporter but is also a gun owner.
I don't get what the OP is trying to say, can you elaborate?
FYI: A lot of black people are legal gun owners....
This can't be right, tea baggers tell us all liberals are gun grabbers!
