Former NBA player Bill Russell was a part of the celebrity cavalcade that put Barack Obama into 1600 Pennsylvania Av.

Bill Russell, Ray Allen to join Obama at fundraiser

A couple of days ago Russell was detained by the TSA for having a .38 revolver in his carry on. Pres. Obama is on record as supporting a ban on handguns, which would presumably include .38 revolvers Pres. Obama supported the DC hand gun ban.
LOTT: Obama's gun ban rhetoric - Washington Times

Mr. Russell apparently felt that it was a good idea for him to have a handgun for protection, yet he enthusiastically supported Obama who would have denied such protection to the great unwashed. It doesn't make sense, unless Russell assumed that he would remain in the privileged class of people still allowed to protect themselves.

Bill Russell is not "unwashed", I dare say he has the money to be powdered and manicured.

I know a few Obama supporters who are gun owners and do occasionally use those guns(at shooting ranges).

You do realize that you can support a candidate without actually agreeing with the letter of every one of their positions?

More like four or five. Maybe more. Interestingly, most of the Obama supporters that I know who are also guns owners are mainly women or Black men.

If Bill Russell were a white Republican, this would be big news.

But since he is a black Obama supporter, the MSM is silent.

That does happen. Example: Alot of Blacks voted for President Obama, but a large portion of the Black population isn't for gay marriage.
