For the same reason we aren't forcing other companies to eliminate their insurance policies. ACA was created for those without insurance coverage, not those that already get it through their employers. Though I do wish this would have been the bill to separate insurance from employment.

Government employees already receive health insurance through their employer.

How many Congressmen or their staffers have to buy from the federal exchange? Did any of them get cancellation notices for their existing coverage like so many other Americans?

Not every private employer is trying to cheat the system.

No, it isn't. It's just liberals doing what liberals do. Like how they define being against Obama's policies as being racist. Like how they define being against abortion as wanting to control women's bodies. Like how they define being against illegal immigration as being against hispanics. Like how they define being against vote fraud as wanting Jim Crow laws. Like how they define questioning global warming as being anti-science.

You all make up a fantasy about why people would be opposed to a policy you like and then apply that fantasy to anyone who disagrees with you.

The exemption that congress gets isn't an exemption from being on the exchanges. It's an exemption from having to pay out of pocket for it. Private employers either have to provide insurance themselves or else not provide it. They can't put their employees on the exchanges but then pay for the premiums. But that's what congress is doing. Us regular folks get subsidies on the exchanges based on need. But congress gets subsidies on the exchanges just for being congress. That's the exemption.

So while congress is on the same exchanges as everyone else, they are not following the same laws as everyone else. But liberals ignore that part so they can just claim there is no exemption. It's typical liberal strawman tactics.

No, beginning January 1, 2014, they must buy it in the marketplace. That's what the Grassley amendment requires. And it must be a gold plan.

Which only goes to show that you don't know very much about the Federal Health Care plan that members of Congress have.
You are confusing the President's plan with the plan Congress must buy.

The President and his staff have a PLATINUM plan, the best money can buy.

Congress must buy a GOLD plan.

Which only goes to show that you don't know very much about Obamacare.

And the government doesn't have to pay for it? The government just doesn't call it Obamacare, just like for the congress. The employees get the premium package of coverage and the government pays for it, Just like this "myth" states.

Is this a general statement or about specific government employees?
