What was unsecured about it? The article say's unlocked garage door not left open. When I leave my house and the doors are shut, that should be secure. NO ONE has the right to enter that house without permission. But i'm sure they will spin it any way they can to cast her in a bad light instead of the burglar that entered and committed the felony.
From the article: the gun had been left next to a gun locker in the family's unlocked garage.
So what gives the robber a right to just stroll in, I leave my house door open, windows open, that does not give anyone a right to go into my house, does it?

The right? You are missing the point. She, like all gun owners, has the responsibility to secure her firearms. Now there is one more criminal out there with a gun. Having said that, I don't think she needs to be penalized, because this sort of thing can happen to anyone. The same kind of sloppiness often results in kids having access to loaded guns and they end up accidentally shooting their siblings or themselves with them.

It was in her garage, why did the robber not obey the law?
