I don't want any one branch of government to be lopsided. Our guiding principle of checks and balances only works when Congress is balanced.
The Republican civil war with itself won't last forever. It won't even last very much longer, and we will return to checking and balancing again once it's over.

You make absolutely no sense. If we were to get Democrats in control of both houses and the white house (or Republicans), it would be the result of elections, not "monopoly."

Well, if they also get Boardwalk and Park Place, then it might be a monopoly. Think of it like this:

Democratic President + Democratic House + Democratic Senate + Boardwalk + Park Place + 2 Hotels = Republicans are doomed.
