Which would save more American lives? Assume that if a faction attacked and killed Americans, less lives would be saved. Likewise, any American killed in a war, also means less lives being saved.

Keyword is abroad, if another faction brings the attack on our soil, money spent defending our nation is not available for health.

Let's just say Iraq because without attacking Afghanistan, who knows if we would or wouldn't have another 9/11 type attack from Al Qaeda. We could save a good number of lives (let's face it life will end at some point) and we would have less deaths (as there would be less of a need for the military.)

The money saved could have been better used from Iraq (I still disagree with Afghanistan because they were a state sponsoring a terrorist attack who thumbed their noses at us when we asked to hand them over with no force.)

Afghanistan is a waste of lives, money and time.. how many us troops have been killed and injured in that never ending war..
