That's odd. I've heard from numerous posters on this site that healthcare.gov works just fine, or that it has some "glitches" and "kinks". If that's true, why is the White House now saying the website won't be fully operational until **DECEMBER**????
yeah let's bring in a management consultant.

they'll fix all the technical problems

So how much MORE is this going to cost us? And what happens if they fail THIS deadline? No one was held accountable yet, so they can create ten more deadlines, no one will be fired if they fail again.
I will be very surprised if this is fixed by December.

Yes, politics has become a three ring circus with political terrorists a recent wrinkle, but bad websites are bad websites and I'm sure the rescue squad has made that estamate.

Systems which are huge do not run smoothly ever at first anyway, even if completely tested, which the current software standard is to let the users finish. Don't blame the president, blame microsoft who set the standard with letting the public test their operating system in 'beta versions' to see if they work. Cheaper than employing a lot of software experts for months.

I don't know that Obama is a software expert so all he can do is go by the dates he's given.

Barack and his team of idiots DICTATED the go-live date. They are 100% to blame.

And if you read the article, he's not even promising that it will be completely fixed, just that it will work for the "vast majority." So even if they deliver on this promise, which I doubt, there will still be people who still won't be able to get through the exchanges.

But Obama doesn't have many choices. Insurance companies are threatening to sue if he delays the individual mandate. And insurance experts are already pointing out that the vast majority of people signing up are on Medicaid. The Obama admin said they need 1/2 of the people to be in private insurance for this to work. In many states, the sign ups have been 80-90% Medicaid so far. This this isn't going to end in a death spiral, it's going to start in a death spiral.

I don't know when our country turned into a land of lobotomized fools, but it's happened. Probably sometime before Obama's election the first time, certainly by 2012.

The Obama Administration truly is a three-ring circus, with Jay Carney driving the clown car.

This would be funny if they weren't such a corrupt group. Hopefully the voters will remember that "those who have never led wilt under the brightest of lights".

I think you're right on the money here. The young and healthy are certainly going to put this off for as long as humanly possible, and the non-Medicaid enrolles are going to likely be the ones that have pre-existing conditions.

...and this news was worthy of a thread? If they said December of 2016, that would be a big deal, but a bit over a month away? This is a big thing? You must be really bored.

You have to get down into the psyche of a right-winger who has totally checked into the conservative alternative reality. If Obamacare doesn't end up being as bad as they have been telling themselves and everyone else, there entire world view will collapse.
