Thousands have marched on the National Mall in Washington, DC to protest covert NSA surveillance operations on the anniversary of the Patriot Act. The organizers have presented Congress with a petition which has acquired over 580,000 signatures.
Stop Watching Us is a collective of 100 public advocacy groups, among them the American Civil Liberties Union, Freedom Works, as well as individuals like Chinese artist/activist Ai Weiwei and Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who worked with Edward Snowden to expose many of the NSA’s surveillance procedures. The rally began at 11:30 am local time on October 26 – the 12th anniversary of the US Patriot Act.

Good to see such a big turnout. Not surprising, but didn't see any coverage on any of the major news sites. Seems like they'd rather push their political soap operas over real issues.
Hoping to see more people standing up and demanding an end to the program.

Yeah I didn't see much coverage. No surprise though. I was curious to see what it would look like.
Here they try to make it sound like a niche group of "techies". So much spin in this article it's like a baseball. LOL Techies concerned over NSA surveillance will march in D.C... quote: Hosted by a hodgepodge coalition that includes the American Civil Liberties Union and the Council on American-Islamic Relations as well as libertarian-leaning groups such as the Competitive Enterprise Institute and FreedomWorks, the Stop Watching Us organizers hope for a diverse crowd that includes the Internet-weary. No need to RSVP by name: Just show up! Don’t worry about those addresses they’re collecting from you — it’s just to let lawmakers know that an actual constituent has shown up; no other use for the data planned

I am very surprised in that I would expect media to want freedom too - to follow up leads, to investigate stories without the gov't reading their emails and having to approve their coverage before airing. Even politicians should want some privacy. I don't get it. These people are not extremists, they just want gov't out of their business. This is in everybody's interest.....isn't it?

You would think, right? But people know where the paychecks come from and often don't want to rock that boat. The Big 6 is owned by the same people so not really surprising. There could be some other coverage out there. I didn't really see it though.
The MCM has seriously lost large portions of their audiences, they seem to be making themselves irrelevant.
Can't remember the guys name atm, but he was with a fox station for a section he had. Did a lot of RP coverage during election. Think he has moved on, not surprised. However, he did an interview I posted that discussed the "group think" as he called it in MSM. Discussed how most are broadcasters and not really journalist or investigators.
(Just remembered Ben Swan)
