As a Georgian from a family who was Georgian before the state was Georgia, and fought on the side of the south, I say that the St. Andrews cross represents hatred towards others because of the way that it was used after the war. The state of Georgia changed the flag to the SAC in 1956, at the height of the civil rights movement. It is a racist symbol and should be interpreted that way. Does he have the right to fly it? Yes. Do I have the right to judge why he does? Yes.

The very same college liberals who are horrified by the confederate flag would proudly wear one of those Palestinian terrorist scarves.

Here's some more white guilt and self-loathing. A college cancelled a band because they were too white.

Let's put this to rest, please!

You answered your own question......

Not all southerners are ashamed of the Confederate battle flag.
Free people will be free.
Where is freedom, in the word... control.

You are inaccurate. Virginia seceded from the Union, AFTER many others had seceded, but ONLY after lincoln broke the law. Prior to that, Virginia had voted to stay as a party of the union.

LOL...funny you mentioned it. During the Vick debacle i was shocked at how many people don't realize how widespread dog fighting is in this country. Like...it's frighteningly commonplace. I was disturbed by how shocked people were. Don't people have any idea what the hell goes on in their own country?

Anyway, to the topic at hand...i'm still waiting for someone to break down southern pride, culture and heritage as if living below some imaginary line changes your human composition somehow.
