“As I got closer to the actors, Max began searching the juveniles,” according to the officer’s report. “The first male juvenile began moving his legs around as Max searched him. When the male began moving his legs, (this is what) I believe prompted Max’s action to bite the male juvenile on the left calf.”

Notice the typical hero cop attitude that it was the fault of the child for moving his legs that caused the dog to bite him, not that they planted drugs on him and then failed to restrain the dog properly.
Pink slips for all of them.

Oh and we all know what happens to the dog of a private citizen if it so much as looks at a cop cross eyed...bang bang!

Uhm, he didn't say it was the kids fault. He explained what he felt triggered the dog's actions. While everyone else knew it was a staged event, the dog didn't and followed his training.

Strange how the mom of the this boy is understanding about what has happened but you seem ready to put down a highly trained member of the police force over one small incident.

Too funny! He is saying the leg movements of the child triggered the attack while conveniently avoiding the fact that he could not control the animal. Not to mention the cops planted an illegal substance on the child and then put the child in front of a dog who is trained to go after them ( insert face palm here)
What relevancy does the mothers reaction have in regards to the actions of the incompetent behavior of the cops? Oops make that highly trained cops

I'd say shoot their dog too, but it was only doing what they trained it to do.

False sensationalized headlines, the child wasn't mauled, the dog clamped onto his leg and released when commanded to. No big deal at all...

The dog was trained to go after drugs, not identify age and a staged drug raid. I'd say the PO/handler should be held accountable.

This is a regrettable incident. Cops should pay for medical, counseling, and make a point to be this kids friend. He will need it to understand it was an accident. Mom sounds like a reasonable person, I expect the cops will do whats right.

Some police could care less because they enjoy immunity from the damage they do to the public. The court system is corrupt and rarely holds them accountable. This is a shame because I am sure many police officers want to do what is right and serve the public good.

Putting a highly trained member of the police force down is a bit excessive. Firing them should be enough to correct the problem. I would kill the dog though.
