We all have different opinions, world views, and upbringing. What I want to know is what we agree on. What is it that Americans can rally around despite the fact that the media wants us to be divided so they can sell ads at a higher rate. This post likely won't receive as many comments as black on white crime, what the archaic GOP politician said, or the latest issue with the ACA website. It's just a small place right now for the rational thinking among us to discuss something of substance.

I'll start.

I would really like to see infrastructure improvements, including roads, bridges, and our electric grids. Infrastructure improvements used to be completely bipartisan. See Ike. Can these improvements be part of a bipartisan agenda moving forward?

I'll throw my hat in! I would love to see more colleges and universities actively recruiting American citizens for high skilled professions, especially in the medical field.

I'm pretty sure that true republicans and true democrats both agree that the republicans have let their party get hijacked by poorly educated idiots and the democratic party is too idealistic for its own good.

What about the NSA. Can't we all agree that the NSA generally sucks?

Though we disagree one good thing is that it stimulates thought. Some time the issues are sensitive some are rarely visited but it's good to sturrr the mind. Issues we may not agree at the moment, but on reflection, some times have merrit. Who knows I might learn something.

So infrastructure, anti-NSA. What else do we have in common?

I dont think we've established that on either of those items.. Many have various opinions on what "infrastucture" should exist and by who...if you're going to proclaim that everyone agrees we should have roads, then yes.. everyone would agree, along with police, fire, hospitals, grass, water, and even trees..

Infrastructure is badly needed in this country, our roads and bridges are in scary shape. The fact that this type of government/private sector collaboration would bring hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs is a huge bonus to the country as a whole. Every one of the politicians could then take credit for being bipartisan. It's a win win.
