Repubs = Fishing Pole

Dems = Fish

Same as I used to tell my wife when helping the kids. Giving them the fish, really isn't helping them.

If we worked on better means testing and catching fraud -- most Republicans would be happy as it would address the above...while not cutting, but rather keeping the same benefits would make the Democrats happy. Net effect, it would help our budget, which is growing rapidly with entitlements among other things.
OK. Fair enough. Lets talk some about that.
Fraud...yes big numbers, BUT...small as a % of the things being spent. Seriously small.

Means testing. Im kind of two minds about this. So...if we means test things what we do is we end up disincentivizing making more money. Which means we discourage being more succesful. And we cause a increasingly large underclass. Im not sure this is good. If anything I think we should do the opposite. And I've been blunt about it. Rather then having unemployment, social security, etc...I think we as a society should define exactly how poor we want the poorest to be, tax sufficiently to pay everyone that amount equally. Rich or poor. I want to avoid the idea that people say "if I make another dollar I lose 5,000 of help". I would say we should avoid means testing at all beyond this-are you a natural born citizen.

Entitlements is used as such a dirty word these days. Yes I am entitled to social security-I paid into it my entire life. Why wouldn't I be? But really what we should be discussing is....how poor do we want our poorest to be, no matter how they got there?

I am one brain injury away from making 6 figures to making 0. I am one illness away from disability. If I had those happen to me, how much would I want to make as a benefit from a society.....and how much am I willing to pay to make sure of that level if it were me?

So you have no answer and do nothing like very other liberal but whine about others when you won't step up. What a coward you are. Pathetic coward. You most likely hope to see folks starve so you can blame republicans then offer a hand for help. You are a sad person I must say.

My gawd, that's just stupid.

The "war on poor" is destroying the economy with taxes, regulation, and government spending, so there's no jobs to get out of being poor.

Did I miss volunteering at the Ted Cruz soup kitchen during the government shutdown?

No...but their parents have, and they decided to have them anyway.....they're responsible.

I'm tired of people that can't afford to have children, spreading their legs and having them anyway, knowing full well that someone else will pay for it.

Enough of this $**t!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want to help? YOU kick in instead of moaning about it....but count me OUT!!

You do realize over half of the country is on welfare of some sort verses working as a direct result of the policies the village idiot has instituted and his lack of focus on producing jobs right? No you don't liberals are not that bright.

I saw a post once that stated don't feed the animals. They will become dependent in hand outs and stop looking for food on their own. Unfortunately moonbats don't heed the warning because their ilk has managed to enslave a majority of an entire nation in welfare. Then they have the kahunas to state republicans are waging war because these same people should be working. Unfreaking believable, the amount of arrogance and lack of personal responsibility.

Go home kid, your out of the scope of ability to reason.
