Do other hospitals deliver diversity training? If so, it very easily could be a coincidence. Most large corporations deliver that type of training now as a legal CYA. It typically has nothing to do with Hallowe'en costumes and more to do with making sure they can prove that they encourage a positive workplace culture.
Presidential caricature masks are no longer accepted in Halloween parties? I remember Bush parody masks and I never heard the staff had to undergo diversity training for it...

Although that may well be true, this incident, involving a parody and Halloween costumes (for all participants - in fact - it was a contest) had everything to do with someone up the ladder getting huffy -- and I would think most folks would believe - unjustifiably so.
There is nothing illegal about what these folks did, nor would it have put anyone at any liability. These were employees interacting with other employees and not in their typical job setting.
1. your right to free speech does not include the workplace. Yes I know you think you should have it everywhere, no you can't.
2. The issue is offending people in the workplace. Thats not your right.
3. Yes I know it was a party-but looks like it was paid for by the workplace.

Nobody is arguing that... what we have is a failure to connect POLITICAL parody to DIVERSITY training... read again liberal...
I did read it. People were offended by the actions of these folks, and they viewed it as a diversity issue not a political one.
And Im not a liberal...I am more of a mish mash of doing what I think will work well, some of thats socialism, a lot of its hard core capitalism and democracy, and I have some views about gun rights that basically appall both democrats and republicans. I am REALLY REALLY for gun control....people should always use both hands. That kinda kicks me out of the liberal camp, but when I also say that RPG's, grenade launchers, tanks, etc should be in the hands of the people many Republicans find me extreme.
We are becoming the old Soviet Union really fast thanks to the help of the zombified illiterate voters out there.
I don't think the ol' hammer and sickle had the NSA.
