They ARE crazy. They can't think in terms of cause and effect.

This little problem with the networks and the 'best' hospitals will immediately mean Obamacare patients are in the lower tier of healthcare in America.

Good luck with that.

I can't believe all the Democrats on Sunday news shows insisting that the companies who are dropping their insurance for employees are only doing so because they want to offer a better policy that will cost their employees less.

sure, sure................SARC

I am shocked how stupid people are... Hospital must accept these Obamacare patients because they need the revenue.... Apparently you have zero idea of how the health system works and you come here talking complete idiocy and think you know something? Well, you don't, please do us a favor and stop talking absolute nonsense...

Obamacare patients.. that's EVERYONE with insurance.. because there is no government run healthcare or government option.

so, if hospitals opt out of insurance plans.. they loose paying patients.. because, ultimately , everyone should be covered by an insurance policy bought on the exchange.

and, if they Don't have insurance.. well then the hospital will be treating patients that will ultimately be unable to pay for services and those patients will most likely end up declaring bankruptcy. Unless said patient is a millionaire .

I have to admit I just don't get this story. In my state, the plans on the exchange are the same as the ones from the insurers if you go to their sites directly. There is no buying on or off the exchange. If you qualify for a subsidy you buy on the exchange. If not you can buy directly or on the exchange. Either way you have the same plans offered as near as I can tell (I have not been to every insurers site, but the ones I have are all the same as the exchange including the price). You can buy a lower cost HMO with fewer doctors and hospitals etc or you can pay more for the BCBS plans that cover the fancy hospitals too. It's all about choice and exchange shoppers appear to have the same ones as direct purchasers. There are some insurers who are not on the exchanges too, but mostly their business model is limited to employer insurance. United Health Care is one of them here. You can't buy individual policies from them off the exchange either.

And speaking of employer insurance, it has been many a year since most employers offered anything but low end HMO policies. I doubt there is going to be much shock for anyone coming from an employer plan.

Quiz: why are the hospitals being excluded from the Obamacare networks?

There will always be a class of people in America who receive excellent healthcare at first rate facilities. It just won't be Obamacare patients.

It must be a big surprise for you to learn that there is nothing new about that. Some hospitals take any insurance, but not all do, and never did. Most people call ahead to make sure their insurance covers the service they are seeking. If you have assumed that all hospitals take all insurances, then you simply do not understand how the system has worked. You seem to be asking for a single payer system where everyone is covered no matter where they go. ACA is not designed to be such system.
