Now the wheels of law making are no longer seized...

Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) filed a bill on Tuesday that would amend the Constitution and impose term limits on members of Congress.
The measure would call for a maximum of 24 years of service for lawmakers, with 12 years each in both the House and Senate.
I'm guessing the idea is that you have to start somewhere.
I would support it. But I doubt it would get any support at all in the Senate, because half of those windbags have made their life's work in that place.
More importantly, I would very strongly support an amendment limiting number of years as a SCOTUS justice -- like 10 maybe.

I agree and they should also do away with the lifetime pension and lifetime healthcare unless they want to give it to the rest of us as well....I really doubt any term limit bill will pass regardless of how easy on politicians that it is.
Didn't take the GOP long to start handing legislative thank-yous to their lobbyist buddies.
You must mean lobbyist as in the people who voted. I don't think the scumbag version of lobbyists would like having less senior members and more diversity and turnover.
My current (republican) state representative was first elected in 1995, running on the contract with america, and he promised to abide by its term limits provision (two terms, IIRC).
He's very cozy right where he is, thank you very much.
This bill will disappear, leaving little trace behind it.
