In fact, opportunities are being taken away from the less-powerful; this is not a Republican/Democrat or liberal/conservative issue. This is a matter of the poor having fewer and fewer options.
...and yet even if everyone has the same exact family and income, and everyone goes to the same schools and some kids will drop out, some will goof off and play video games and party instead of doing homework, some will do drugs or commit crimes and get arrested or suspended from school, and some girls will get pregnant and drop out.

Meanwhile other kids who will be paying taxes to support the above classmates for the rest of their lives, because they studied, did their homework, stayed in school and did not make babies out of wedlock, take drugs or commit crimes.

Many times the "poor having fewer and fewer options" are this way because of the self destructive choices they made in their life.

There will always be dysfunctional people who need public assistance, it's inevitable, and we do need to offer them assistance. The problem is that too many bleeding heart libs, while being of good intentions, coddle these people and actually encourage more of the same by not holding them accountable for their self destructive behavior.

Anger. Daily. In every post (hundreds of them).

Pride is the worst deadly sin of all.

When you experience pride, you judge.
When you judge, you condemn.
When you condemn, you hate.
When you hate, anything destructive is possible.

The progression is very evident in this and other threads. Judgments predicated on unfounded observations that have no basis in fact.

Food stamps are a perfect example. The people who whine about the moral standards of welfare recipients offer no statistics that are the basis for their condemnations while actual statistics show that the vast.....and I mean vast..........majority of food stamp participants are Seniors, disabled and working poor.
But to judge a whole class of people, one must cherry pick the anomalies in the group and ignore the factual mass.
The result is a deliberate attempt to fracture the current social contract.

I have personally observed the same individuals do everything in their power to fracture and divide the current, national, social bond for the last five years on this particular board.
They are conceited, prideful, judgmental, hateful individuals who totally lack a sense of compassion and whose only function is to fracture and divide the nation.

In my religion, you will be required to live your life over again through a process of reincarnation. You will be born to an environment where you have nothing, nor any future of achieving anything, nor any opportunity to live a better life than your parents and others will hate you for no other reason than what you are and what you need to do to see another day. It is a whole culture recognized in India but universal in practice.

You deserve compassion as you will be required to experience the very things you abhor, to advance up the ladder of human evolution and enlightenment.
I wish you luck in your journey of a thousand lifetimes.

I can't speak to whether or not this is true, but why should it even matter? When you give money to a homeless person on the street, do you know how it's going to be spent? No; you have no assurances that it will go towards feeding/clothing/housing him or her. You can only give with the full faith in that person, and let the events play out as they will....aid that is freely given without judgement is the purest form of aid there is. Once you start assigning value judgments to people, you start to move further away from spirituality, which was the original point of this post.

No, we do not. If you lined us all up and went from one end to the other, there are NO two people who have the SAME opportunities and pathways in life. Nobody even thinks that.

The "less power" in this case are the people and it is the "more powerful" (politicians) doing it, while a lot of lefties cheer and do fist pumps "that'll show those greedy bastards".

wrath: also known as "rage", may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger.

OP is an angry individual; at least evidenced by his/her postings.
