Todd Eberly, a political science professor at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, argues the movement goes beyond disgruntled conservatives, pointing out Democrats in South Florida and western Arizona counties want to break from their states, which they consider run by Republicans.

Of course not. But its a start towards that.
That would be great! Then I could bank roll an area's chance to secede.
7K likes on Facebook? I think the Jonas brothers had much more than that when they seceded from each other.
Leftists understand that a population who can 'secede' from the locations where leeches predominate is the end of the welfare state.
Far right wingers get easily confused when they learn what it takes for a state to split into two which is why they act like it would be the most simple thing to do.

Cute. Way to address your lie about a handful of republicans.

No idea. Haven't looked it up...why does it matter? Did you see all the signs people are putting up on their page? We will see Tuesday how much support this idea has.

So is it republicans disguised as democrats that want to split Arizona in 2?

I highly doubt it but at least in the CL the people can and more than likely will kick out any politician that refuses to at least entertain the idea. The people will speak on Tuesday. They have already proven they can and will throw out politicians who violate the US and Colorado Constitutions. A 3rd is up for the same thing.
I don't think a 51st state will get made but the people are obviously getting tired of the bureaucracy in the state capitol. Ignore at own risk. Could cost them their jobs at the very least. Like the article says 5 states were made the same way.
If North Coloradans don't like things, then they should start voting there elected officials out of office and find better representation.
If the secession movement actually believes they can seize control the main water supply for 30 million downstream people who depend on the Colorado River daily, it's very good that their attempt is going on the ballot. All of those downstream folks, the city dwellers, farmers, and industrialists, all need to know who to go after.
This movement will never go anywhere. Do not mistake an upwind fart for headway, even if it is something in the air.
I should have known before I checked on the link it was from World Nuts Daily! There is no "massive" push for this in CO. In fact, the recent floods, which caused a number of the possible seceding counties to receive a good deal of state aid, has caused second thoughts. But oh, I just live there.
Wow...the way its looking Denver/Boulder are gonna be left all alone in the cold when this is over.
Umm hmmm.
