That's what the gunman pulled out of his bag.

Stories like this make me not want to be around people any more. All it takes is one crazy person with an assault rifle in his bag at the airport to mess things up real good. They said he hated the TSA and was concerned about the NWO.

Or some guy with a rifle with a 100 round magazine who went insane.
Sigh.

Colorado shooter used shotgun, assault-style rifle with 100-round drum magazine - U.S. News

Oh well, I'm sure our forefathers knew this when they said we have the right to keep and bear arms. Like grenades and nukes. Those are arms. Government, stay out of my nukes.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

According to the wording of the Constitution, I can have one of these:

Think about this....

Today we are way beyond colonial muskets, cannons and horses of the 1700s. The idea that anyone can oppose a modern military -- trillion dollar budgets, supersonic aircraft and missiles, GPS satellites and communications for millions of soldiers -- with a gun is childish Hollywood at best.

Which I got from here, but it's still a valid point. (God, I hate quoting HuffPO)

You can argue you can keep your gun to be part of a militia. You can't argue your militia would be able to do very much if the military went bananas and tried to take your stuff. They can obliterate you from orbit bro. Lemme find that video. It would be you vs. them. Tell 'em, Data. Data is nothing but pure pimp.

Star Trek STNG Moments 50 The Ensigns Of Command - YouTube

The military has these. They can turn you into a puddle of red pudding from 25 miles away. GPS guided arms, bro.

Modern Field Artillery with R. Lee Ermey - Lock'n'Load - YouTube

If you think about that line about the militia fighting.... that was about the same time people were using whale oil for lamps. I think some people view the Constitution as they view the Bible. They take what they want from it, slap their context on it and then present it as inalienable truth. The truth is, a well regulated militia would be blown to hell and back. Personal protection, yah, that makes sense. Militia.... HA, are you kidding me.

I like guns. I've killed things for my supper with guns. I just wish we could keep the crazy people away from them. Argh. I guess we just get to watch more people die due to some stupid or crazy #$%hole.

You must keep in mind, like those that are so insistent on keeping our Federal weapons system sufficient to annihilate all the Worlds population 20 times, the NRA wants to sell enough guns to be able to do the same in this Country. Same mentality...

All it takes is one sane armed citizen to stop them.

I don’t know if there is enough evidence that these people (mentally ill) are posing a greater risk to the community and to other groups. The vast majority of people hospitalized for 72 hours are likely not dangerous, but our capacity to predict who might be dangerous is limited.

Keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill is like desperately finding a needle in a haystack, or making 99.9% of the flying public suffer through long security lines at the airport in a vain effort to try to stop that nut with a gun. There are too many out there and too few mechanisms in place or available to find 100% of them.

Yeah, yeah, yeah .. I know the argument. Must have the rapid fire weapon and 100 plus rounds available to make sure that "Wascally Wabbit" gets totally dead, huh?

Good point. When that guy went bananas in the theater, a few citizens with guns in the dark would've made it stop. Nothing like a fire fight when you know who the bad guy is.
Imagine a scene. You've just heard gunfire. There are two men standing there, with guns, in a crowd. One man shoots the other man with his gun, and the other man shoots back at the first.

Who's the bad guy or the good guy? How would you know who to shoot?
That's the conundrum. Best thing to do is probably just shoot them both. Then the cop will show up and then just shoot everyone with a gun. The CIIIIIIIRCCCLLEEEE of LIIIIIIIIIFE>>>>

Unlike you liberals I don't need someone to tell me what to do.

No, no, no .. you should ban AR-15's and give the 5'1" lady with arthritis a 12 gauge shotgun for home defense instead because shotguns aren't used in crimes. Just ask Biden. Oh wait....
