3.16 because winter season is coming with less usage and a cheaper blend during this season... Don't you notice that gas gets cheaper EVERY time summer ends and the blends get switched to winter gasoline?
Yep, this is why.
I paid $2.85 yesterday.
Would love to see the ethanol go away and my gas mileage increase by 10%.
I was in New Jersey yesterday (Saturday, Nov. 2nd) and I noticed a gas station selling gas at $2.99 a gallon. It surprised me because here in Philadelphia - where gas is always more expensive than in surrounding towns - it has been over $3 for a long time now.
I thought maybe it was an exception or a gimmick ... but as I continuted to drive up White Horse Pike through Stratford to Berlin, NJ, all the other stations were selling gas at $3.01 a gallon (about 20 cents less than in Philly).
What does gas cost in your city or town? Why have the prices been coming down?
$3.16/gal here in NE Ohio in my town as of yesterday. They have been fluctuating slightly. Down for a few days, than up a nickle, then down again. Last summer they were hovering around $3.45/gal most all summer.
This is an improvement; but, considering that in Dec 2008 I was paying $1.65/gal ...

Could be you don't spend much time on the other side of the river but gasoline tax in NJ is among the lowest in the country. I believe only Alaska's is lower. PA gasoline tax by contrast are on the higher side. So it shouldn't be a surprise gasoline is notably cheaper on the NJ side than on the PA side.
Gas prices have been falling because of stagnant demand and high inventory levels.
Lucky me, I live in one of most high-gasoline-tax states in the country. Then throw regional transit taxes and Cook County taxes and city taxes on top of all that and regular-grade gas is hovering around $3.69/gal. Get out into the collar counties and it drops to about $3.40/gal, or in the Indiana suburbs, about $3.10/gal.
Oh, that's $5.110305 per gallon, is that C dollars? If so, that's about $4.88 US to a US gallon, man, you guys are being gouged!
But, if you live near the border, you always drive over here and fill up here. We did the same thing when my parents lived in Southern Illinois (cross a state border), they'd go to Indiana to buy gas because the prices were cheaper, lower fuel tax, but you'd have to cross into the US and back.
It was interesting to drive down from New York last month...filled up at home at $3.82, filled up again at $3.24 and didn't need any when we went by a $3.04 price.
Got to our destination and a $3.68 charge.
Best price yesterday was $3.38.
We're not going to waste time figuring out how much a gallon that is for you. Please edit your post with relevant info, or delete it. Thanks.
And yet, you want me to waste time dumbing it down for you. If you don't understand it, it's your problem, not mine.
Signed,
Smart Alic <sic>
