No, their coverages are being forced to be a "one size fits all". Instead of catering coverage to the individual, they must all now be the same. So everyone must have maternity, pediatric, etc., even if you will never have a need for it.

Blaming the insurance companies for cancelling is wrong. They wouldn't have cancelled unless that coverage no longer complies with the ObamaCare mandate.

No mandate, no cancellations. Really, it's that simple.

Didn't fully elaborate. Is that liberal spin for lie. And now "partial truth" is an actual thing? No, partial truth is a LIE. And he never "clarified" his statement because he MEANT to LIE.

You go right on defending evil.

That will be long forgotten in 2014. But those high premiums and deductibles will still be paid.

What part of "no limits" don't you understand?

My old policy had NO CAP, not an annual cap, not a lifetime cap, NO CAP. It also could not be singled out for cancellation based on claims history. It had no pre-existing condition limitation either.

My shiny new Obamacare policy sucks compared to the fine coverage that Obama lied about--you know, the coverage I liked but could not keep. Oh, it has pregnancy coverage for me and my 57 year old wife. But all of our babies were covered by the policy that Obama just cancelled--a long time ago.

jojajn, you go ahead and ignore the blizzard of facts about real people getting real hose jobs by Obamacare. Pay no attention to anybody who fails to spout the Party line. Act like there never has been an honorable or honest insurance company ever before. Keep putting out that Obamacare is GREAT! When people find out what Obamacare has done to their out-of-pocket costs and deductibles, it will make their unhappiness with Obama all the deeper. Keep up the good work!

And stay away from the Washington Post today. Turns out that when you nail people in the wallet, they notice--and do not like it. And when you lie to them and they figure it out, they don't like that either. These unfortunate facts are creating a festering mess for Obama, one that will not get better any time soon.

Now, I will say this in defense of President Obama: Although he is justly getting blasted for his lies about Obamacare, within a short period of time most people will be blaming him for EVERY aspect of health insurance or health care that they do not like--even the things that are not his fault. After he got caught lying to us, he is going to get blamed for everything. He deserves all the grief he will get for the new Obamacare policies that only pay 50% (what a joke.) He deserves all the grief he will get for higher deductibles and shorter approved doctor lists. He deserves all the grief he will get for reduced work hours. But he is going to get blamed for EVERYTHING that anybody has a problem with.

Umm, according to your reference, "risk pool" means putting similar risks together. You know, like a 24 year old female and a 62 year old male have the same or similar risks of being pregnant, right?

Obamacare violates a number of principles of true insurance. For one thing, financing known recurring small costs (like basic preventive services) is not insurance. And not being able to charge age-appropriate premiums further removes obamacare from the realm of insurance. Intergenerational warfare on the young? Yes. Insurance? No.

Keep up the great work.

Funny thing that....persons with known medical conditions that are guaranteed to cost money get a basic charge...so do the even morbidly obese.
But don't fear, you don't have to pay extra for smokers...even perfectly healthy ones that may never cost an extra amount of money in claims....they can be surcharged.

Sure.... once folks who had decent coverage prior to Obamacare but are paying a whole lot more for less coverage ( ie, higher deductibles, copays, out of pocket expenses, not to mention higher premiums), and taxes continue to rise on the backs of those who work and pay taxes due to the increased number of folks on Medicaid, they'll just be overjoyed@@.....

Maternity coverage for men?
This makes maternity coverage cheaper for women and likewise women having coverages aimed at men makes those coverages cheaper for men. Because you have a bigger pool of people involved.

Yes, men should pay for pregnancy coverage, and here's why - latimes.com
