He's probably not as good as Emile Griffith was though. Griffith was another gay boxer who was the world champion both in the featherweight and middleweight divisions. I think it was Benny Paret who, during a fight, kept calling Griffith a fa**ot. Griffith ended up beating him to death in Madison Square Garden on national television.
I'm as conservative as they come and I just don't think things like this are something to get up in arms about. If the university is giving other points of view an equal opportunity to speak, then I'm whatever about it (especially since it is a public university). I do believe college is the place to help our children form their point of view and for that, they need to hear multiple viewpoints. While this type of speech would not be something I would enjoy or likely attend, I am fine as long as the university is promoting an open dialogue with several types of opinions.
When your kids reach the age of 18 and are legally free, they can do whatever they please, whether you vet it or not.

You do all the vetting you need, that doesn't mean these kinds of symposiums won't be offered at the school. You can't choose for your children what they will learn about the world.
