Oh good god - all of this defense of Hooters as though it's a freaking Chuck E Cheese. Please. It's main 'draw' is good looking women in minimal clothing. Even the name of the restaurant is just a euphemism for breasts. So give me a flipping break already. It's NOT a family restaurant even if some people may have brought their families there. Oh and I think their wings suck.
That being said, the real issue isn't even the restaurant. The parents objected to their minor children going there, the school said don't go there, the coach still refused with some crap about 'being a man'. He got fired and he deserved it. He was being foolish, plain and simple.
I am. I can't believe there's anyone who would be offended by going to a chicken wings restaurant.
Give me a break. It's not 'just' a chicken wings restaurant. The entertainment is the women - period. As the name implies. Stop trying to act like it's just any restaurant. I've been there - the wings suck and the women are the only thing that keeps the men going to this crappy restaurant.
Update: There's no Hooters near Corbett, Oregon. The coach had to drive the kids 30 miles out of their way to Portland, past many acceptable restaurants, just to prove his point about manliness.

Why does ogling at women equal manliness??? I am married to a good Southern boy that hunts, fishes, etc, etc. His version of being a 'man' is providing for his family, being my rock, and killing the occasional bug.
Hooters is nothing. The waitresses likely wear twice as much as the school's cheerleaders or even the female students.
Lol, Middle school cheerleaders aren't wearing NFL cheerleader style costumes. My daughter is a middle school cheerleader, and their outfits are appropriate.
Sorry, but kids should not be encouraged to be at Hooter's, IMO. That's just a moral principle, not a de-masculinazation
Huh? Perhaps someone can explain to me what's so special about Hooters that would make a party there any less appropriate than at Mickey D's, Applebee's, or the Olive Garden.
