Money buys elections-that much is known. But Pro-GMOers were obviously scared on this measure, spending a record amount in fundraising to ensure their win.

What the TV says usually goes in America.
Anyone who is "pro-GMO", unless they are paid to lobby (yes, some are here)
for "Round Up"/Monsanto is a brainwashed lemming. And they will regret their stupidity when they are admitted to hospital for long term digestive disorders.
  1. The Convention on Biodiversity recognizes that genetic engineering is a threat to amount and variety of life on the planet.
  2. Scientists reviewing data from Monsanto's own studies "have proven that genetically engineered foods are neither sufficiently healthy or proper to be commercialized".
  3. Biotech's scattershot technique of spraying plant cells with a .22 birdshot of foreign genes that hit chromosomes in random spots would trigger the expression of new allergens and change the character of plant proteins.
  4. The more genetically engineered corn fed to mice, the fewer babies they had and the smaller the babies were.
  5. The third generation of hamsters fed genetically engineered soy suffered slower growth, a high mortality rate, and a bizarre birth defect: fur growing in their mouths. Many also lost the ability to have pups (sterility).
  6. Animals fed genetically engineered feed ARE different from animals fed conventional and organic feed.
  7. A single serving of genetically engineered soy can result in "horizontal gene transfer," where the bacteria in the human gut adopts the soy's DNA.
  8. Genetically engineered foods ARE different from conventional and organic foods.
  9. Genetically engineered foods have not been tested to determine whether they are safe for human consumption.
  10. Almost all non-organic processed food or animal products in the U.S. today contain ingredients that come from genetically engineered crops or from animals given genetically engineered feed, vaccines or growth hormones.
Ask Your Representatives in Congress to Cosponsor HR 5577, Representative Kucinich's Genetically Engineered Food Right to Know Act.

and TV is corporate owned unless its Indy media. Most of us should know big oil and banks own cnn, msnbc and fox. Mainscream media is NOT who to get your medical information from.

ER doctors have treated children admitted with anaphylactic shock (and dying) after eating GMO corn.

Monsanto Patent for a Pig (Pt.1 of 5) - YouTube

Privatized, cancer causing Pig.
Monsanto's business plan to patent Pig DNA. Soy milk, rBGH. Keep infants away from Soy.

How to identify ORGANIC fruits and vegetables

The PLU code (price lookup number), tells you the following:
  • 5-digit number, beginning with the #9 = organic.
  • 5-digit number, beginning with the #8 = GMO or genetically modified food.
  • 4-digit number means grown by conventional (code for chemical) means.
The other numbers pertain to the actual product's information,
different by store and location.

30% of fundraising efforts to label GMO's came directly from Washington residents, showing clearly that Corporate power is influencing and controlling the vote of the uninformed American.

The vote was 54.8% opposed to labeling and 45.2% in favor of it.

Natural Cures Not Medicine: This is how GMO foods will be eliminated
I don't see where censoring a voice is needed. Now days the amounts of agenda driven speech means its all out there for people to decide.

You're welcome great informative thread too.
People who truly care about their health and nutrition will NEVER eat GMO's, or at least make an effort to read the ingredients labels.

My MIL had cancer and , jmo, a lot of her diet was processed meats.

Too Many Communistic Fascists Companies in this country that don't believe in letting the consumers decide but instead create deceptive practices or buddy up with the government to ram it down our throats.

Whatever happened to let the consumers decide?
The same place where we had a say in NAFTA and Commie Chinese Products

It's good to see that a handful of tin-foil-hat wearing loons didn't get thier way this time. I wonder if they have counted all the votes from the dead people in King county yet?

It is nice to know you support fascism and that the consumer does not have a right to know what they are purchasing.

Come on people..Monsanto isn't paying for that label on your can of corn.

We got COOL because there was no way around that one although they tried.

If that fish came off the boat from China then there's not much overhead with printing "From China" on that label.
And now you can truly see how little food is produced in the US.

Here in Texas I don't see California grapes or strawberries.
All I see is "Chile" or "Mexico"
