Liberals no longer own the results of the economy. Obama has been begging for more stimulus for years and congress will not act. The blame is shared equally between Obama and Congress.
We don't need stimulus, particularly in the form of relief to people at the bottom of the ladder. The economy will get better without it and the improvement will be real instead of induced by temporary spending increases. On the other hand, we sorely need infrastructure improvements and spending in that area is an investment that will yield economic returns in future years.

What is happening is that fast food and retail is driving this recovery.
Those salaries will never create an economic boom or drive any true recovery.
And that means we'll never really "recover" to what we had.
Those retiring boomers are not retiring from FF/retail jobs.
I am a retired boomer. Software engineer. My job went to India when I retired.
No American took my place.
Surely this is good news to the Obama Swooners isn't it? Oh wait, unemployment ROSE to 7.3% with 720,000 Americans leaving the labor force. This exodus pushed the labor force participation rate down to 62.8%, the lowest level since 1978. One out of three adults in neither working nor actively looking for work.
Also waiting for the full time to part time stats based on Obamacare as in how many workers had their hours decreased so their employers didn't have to give them the kind of policies Obamacare demands.
I love how it's being blamed solely on the baby boomers leaving the work force. The population of the country has been expanding exponentially since the baby boomer generation. Just having the baby boomers retire should not decrease the work force so drastically. There should be almost as many, if not more, new workers for every boomer that leaves.

BLS says part time workers were unchanged in October.
The report accounts for 100K out of 720K dropping out.
I think the "boomers are retiring" is a bit hyped at this stage.
1957 was the peak of boomer births with 4.3 million born.
And with this economy and home values I doubt many are retiring early.
The stories are there of people NOT retiring and causing hardship for younger workers who can't get jobs.
You can't have it both ways.
While the statistics do show that the labor force participation rates for those between 55 and 65 have moved up slightly, those rates are still significantly below the rates of those younger than 55. The largest component of those not in the work force are retirees. The decline the LFPR was predicted decades ago. It is just not a good indicator of the strength or weakness of the employment situation.
Sure, I agree. But I wouldn't say the entire 720,000 retired.
That's a false assumption.
Agreed, not all the 720,000 retired. However retirees likely make up the biggest slice of that number.
