Some have no problem raking from others for their ill conceived and wasteful government programs.

I don't recall the United States being founded on that principle.

Anything other than commission-based pay is somewhat stealing. No one should be paid for just showing up (hourly pay) and no one should be paid for just being employed (salaried pay). You should be paid for what value you add to the company. No more, no less.

Really? Is investing in the stock market and reaping profits from it stealing as well? Its not "commission-based pay", you know.

Sure it is. Commission is defined as granting payment as a percentage of business done (cambridge dictionary). That is exactly what investing in the stock market does. It is a person purchasing a piece of equity or debt and receiving relative returns based on how far that investment goes.

Just making sure I'm not stealing in your mind.

You have people in this country that work 40+ hours a week and never ever get a vacation. That is immoral. It's wrong, and its the job of congress to fix it by enacting laws that guarantee workers holiday time.

The attitude of some of you right-wingers is just sickening. You just don't care about people. A total lack of empathy that is pretty damn shocking.

Charity is not the job of government.
You should go back and study our foundations.

Force & dictating do not equal a free society.
Congress already takes liberties with power NOT granted to it which is bad enough.

We don't value labor in this country; we value investment exponentially more so.

Do you understand my point at all? Paying someone to physically be present doesn't add value to a company. Paying someone a salary where they can slack off half the day doesn't add value to a company.

Do you agree or disagree that people should be paid based on what they can actually add to a company?

that depends on the business model. some companies may decide that paying someone to be physically present is important.

whether it adds value or not .. it is the company's decision to compensate people this way, is it not ?
