So, Fuselage went to the grocery store this weekend and noticed that most of the chocolate bars were "dark" or, in other words, "brown." There were only a few chocolate bars that were "white." Is this racist?
I was surprised to see such a small percentage of white chocolate. Although Fuselage lives in a community that is 90% white, the surrounding areas are about 85% black.
Should the grocery store in my area carry more white chocolate? Do you think they are trying to appeal to consumers from outlying, much more black, towns?
Harrier is actually a bit miffed at himself because he has not updated his college football top 25 rankings for the last 2 weeks.
Harrier has been rather busy during that period of time, and getting little sleep.
Harrier plans to do complete this purely recreational task sometime today, even though he has many more pressing issues and activities to address and in which to engage.
Harrier will let you know on the pertinent forum when he has finished the update.
Deezus is eagerly looking forward to the updated rankings.
Quote:
Harrier will not allow any subjective criteria enter into his decision making, but he is rather sure that Alabama(though he is not a fan of the Crimson Tide) will remain #1, Stanford(Harrier's pre-season favorite) will fall substantially, and Ohio State will continue to lurk within the top 5.
New Orleans is a chocolate city according to Mayor Nagin during Hurricane Katrina.
Kanwe West thought that President Bush "doesn't care about black people", and various liberals accused Republicans of "causing" the Katrina floodwaters to inundate the 'black' part of New Orleans while keeping the 'white' part dry, totally ignoring the fact that many neighborhoods in New Orleans are racially integrated and that they were spouting complete nonsense.
You can always count on liberals and Democrats to be race baiters.

Softblueyz thinks that Harrier has gone off the rails, or at least gone off his own topic.
This thread is about the perception of blackness by people, and whether it is deemed important or not, and you mentioned chocolate.
Deal with it.
This thread is "Harrier As Usual". What's with your obsession with black people (just one of your obsessions I may add)? Why don't you stop making black people the topic of your threads?
You can't even see that you are being mocked in this thread. Who walks around a store observing mannequins? People look at the clothes on the mannequin, they don't stop and contemplate the color of the mannequin and how it may impact other races and peoples perceptions.

I thought it was about Harrier revealing he'd never seen black mannequins. Which seems more than odd considering black mannequins have been used in stores all over L.A. County for decades. Harrier obviously resides in a part of L.A. that is unknown to most Angelenos.

No it's not.
Harrier has a habit of bringing a can of gasoline to all internet threads that have a hint of color in them. If there are no pertinent threads about color, then Harrier will start one.
Tell Harrier that IMO, he is obsessed with race and uses every opportunity to bring up the subject and consistently frames his questions about race in the manner a cute naive, innocent, young thing, playing totally ignorant about racial issues but has a very clear understanding and agenda of how to create and manipulate a racial bonfire.
Based on Harrier's post history, Harrier takes a perverted pleasure in getting up the nose of all minorities of color.
So, Harrier was in a department store this weekend and while walking around he saw roughly 40 mannequins scattered around the floor.
Out of the 40 mannequins, three were black, five were brown, and the rest were white.
Harrier supposes that the black mannequins were in proper proportion to the rest since blacks are approximately 13% of the population and 13% of 39 is 3.
Harrier was a little surprised by the dearth of brown mannequins since he lives in a community that is well over 60% Hispanic.
However, he was struck by two things.
First, Harrier doesn't recall seeing black or brown mannequins in a department store before. Usually, the mannequins are the same drab off white or grey color, and it never occurred to him that they were representing anything other than a generic human figure, rather than a Caucasian.
That brings up the question - is it really necessary to paint mannequins in order to make all races represented, especially if the ideal is to be a colorblind society?
Second, seeing the black mannequin made Harrier recall the uproar last year over the poor second grader who was suspended from school because he showed up in blackface to portray Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, something that he was assigned to do by the teacher.
If using blackface to honor and portray a great American is considered racist, then is it also racist to paint a mannequin black?
Ummm, sounds like Harrier has waaaaay to much free time.

Harrier has no such obsession.
Liberals do.
Harrier is only pointing out the hypocrisy of liberals concerning their obsession with skin color.
