Harrison Bergeron! I loved that book when I was a kid!

And so true.

Maybe we should pull it out and get our kids to read it. It certainly sheds some light on the sillyness of the day.

My kids read it in grade school, and immediately understood the implications. It should be on every student's required reading list. It's not PC or pro- social engineering, though, so I doubt that'll ever happen.

Thank you, Kurt Vonnegut!

It isn't personal. It's a characterization of the comments you're making. You have some reason why you're posting inaccurate information. I listed the possibilities, but I admit there may be other reasons why you're trying to dupe readers into the wrong understanding of the situation.

I know you're being facetious, but I wonder if everyone does. I doubt any caring human being, even if immune to the effects of society "falling apart" in the manner you described, will be able to watch it happen with anything other than horror. There probably will be some people reveling in the misery of others - some even who today are misery-wishing toward others - but I know you're not one of them.

So Obama was right. We need to steal more from the rich and "spread the wealth around."

This from your model in Communist Russia a country of 145 million where 110 people own 35% of the nations wealth. Yeah! MORE socislism is the answer!

Quote:
MOSCOW (AP) — A staggering 35 percent of household wealth in Russia is owned by just 110 people, the highest level of inequality in the world barring a few small Caribbean islands, a report by a major investment bank says.

Russia's Wealth Inequality One Of Highest In The World

Such absolutist deception, and especially self-deception, is a hallmark of the foundation of right-wing perspective. Nuance - the viewing of the world as complex rather than simplistic - is an anathema to right-wing philosophy being so fraught with self-centered callous disregard for those less fortunate.
