The ones that took up arms against America should've been held accountable, and should have been tried and punished for being the slave-owning, human-trafficking terrorists they were. That they weren't, and instead were treated with kid gloves after the fact, was a huge mistake.

My opinion is just like everyone else's, just mine. I don't think the Confederate flag belongs in a Veteran's Day parade. Confederate soldiers are dead and gone, and they would not be considered veterans of the United States of America. As far as what it means to everyone, I can only speak for me and I don't fly one.

I feel the same way. I see them as traitors. Confederate stuff has no place in a Veterans Day parade for those who fought for the USA.

Confederate soldiers are not USA soldiers. They fought against the USA.

That is what I said, if you read my post. Also, sorry but just because I am from the South you are not going to upset me about this. Go back and read what I said.

I have my flag out all the time, just to remind my neighbors that they are living in the USA now, not their native country.
I'm sure they need the reminder, as sometimes it's easy to forget which country one lives in. Thanks for sticking up for the USA, even the most powerful country in the world can need a little guy like you to stand up for it.

They fought for their states which they rightfully believed were being threatened.

They rebelled against the USA, and one of the reasons they did so was to keep slavery. Yes, the USA was practicing slavery, but the USA didn't use slavery as one of their reasons to rebel against Britain. Some of the southern states, however, did. It's in the Articles of Secession.

I see the Confederates as traitors.
