The USAPATRIOT Act has absolutely nothing to do with habeas corpus. You are referring to the National Defense Appropriations Act of 2012, in which POWs may be detained indefinitely without being charged with a crime.

During times of war, such as now, it is common practice to detain POWs without charge until the end of the war. In the National Defense Appropriations Act of 2012 Congress reaffirmed that a State of War as per Public Law 107-40 continues to exist. Until such time as Congress repeals Public Law 107-40, the State of War will continue to exist.
I did not, nor did the poster stipulate as to the cause of the poverty, merely that it was NOT worse elsewhere. I stated she wasn't looking any further than her Fox news channel and would find same in her own back yard.

How appropriate you would describe an existing state of war within a thread mentioning freedoms. I guess everythings OK then, as long as congress approves of the situation.

And the Patriot Act has many features buried within it that render your traditional freedoms moot at the whim of some agency or another without due process, does it not?

My comment is - how many millions wish to come here as opposed to other countries?
There are other countries that many would like to go to because of the conditions of their country but those countries control who can come in and who can't.

People do that, not a nation.

Guessing you had nothing to do with any of that.

What have you done?

Maybe they want to come to America because it's their easiest bet.

Many of the countries at the same level or better off than America have/or been putting in place policies discouraging immigration.

No, it does not. Of course you would already know this had you bothered to actually read the law.

Default The USA is the best country in the world.

If the USA is so great, why doesn't it have thorium nuclear power plants?
