Just as food, housing, clothing... all miserable failures. Right?

The elasticity of the market for those products is different and 100% incomparable.

It certainly should be. Time to put the insurance companies out of business.

I wish the Democrats hadn't backed down from single payer in the first place.

Ditto. They would have been laughed out of Congress as soon as they introduced the idea, instead of being able to lie, cajole, and bribe their way into getting the failure of socialized medicine passed into law. and the whole circus would have been over long ago.

The tooth fairy is busy funding Wall Street to the tune of $80 billion a month for infinity.
Santa is busy expanding means tested programs to where people making over $80K a year now qualify for welfare benefits.
The Easter Bunny is busy writing checks to foreign countries for billions of dollars in order to buy "friendship".

There's no one left to magically pay for this.
Impose a tax on all income/government benefits- no exceptions.

Well, at least out of healthcare.

Medicare is the largest insurer in the U.S. and operates with the lowest overhead. Instead of allowing the most cost effective provider do it, we enable the private sector insurers ( lobbies) to impose themselves and overhead on the process.

I'll bite. Lets cut the amount of money we spend on defense and reduce the amount we spend on law enforcement and locking people up. It's simply a myth we don't have the money or resources to spend on healthcare, it's just tied up in the military industrial complex and the prison system. We just have our priorities mixed up.
