The only reasons they can't seem to get there is because the Israelis and CIA keep killing their nuclear scientists, and because the sanctions were working.

A diplomatic solution is the best solution, though imperfect. But we are not going to bomb ANOTHER middle eastern country to get them to be nice. If they ever launch anything against Israel or the USA, it will be their funeral, and they would have to be complete morons not to know that. Iran has nothing to gain and everything to lose from going with nukes.

I can sleep just fine at night about all this. They are humans like anyone else, and having some diplomatic relationships with Iran seems just fine with me. They are no more rotten than the House of Saud, for instance.
Oh please! We didn't "nuke" another country, it was the atom bomb that no one was even sure was going to work and saved us from possibly hundreds of thousands of casualties invading Japan (not to mention all the casualties that would have been on the Japanese side had we invaded). Notice we've never done it again, even though we have a far larger arsenal of much greater power?

You're wrong about what Iran has to gain from having nukes. They gain the upper hand in the Middle East, which will cause Saudi Arabia and Egypt to try to build them too. The current government of those countries (and Pakistan) would use it for deterrence, but imagine an Arab Spring takeover of Saudi Arabia, or Egypt, or Pakistan, a not unlikely scenario. How'd you like for people with ties to al Qaeda to have access to nuclear weapons? Those guys don't care if it's their funeral - more virgins in heaven.

Even France, the most passive of the EU said its a fools deal.

The Idiot-in-chief and the Ketchup king handed over to Iran everything they wanted on a silver platter. Iran was desperate. They were running out of money. And then here comes these Washington idiots and gives it all back. Obama pompously says the sanctions could be turned back on. Obama has been smoking crack again.

Iran sponsors international terrorism. They are building a bomb. The mad mullahs are salivating and cackling with glee over how they put one over the US. But judging who is in the WH, that's apparently not hard to do.
Please, the contention has been that Iran would have nuclear capability next year for around 20 years and never happened.

There are plenty of terrorists countries to go after rather than Iran, they are not even close to the top problem facing the US. They have not done one thing to the US since the embassy takeover and if you know anything about history and the way we manipulated their country to suit our needs you would not condemn their actions.

Their government still has a lot to do with the Ayatollahs manipulation but their days are numbered, they are one of the most educated countries in the middle east and peace with them would be a victory. Unfortunately there are many who stand to gain more by continued confrontation than peace and they are hard at work to undermine any agreement.

On par with England reaching a peace agreement with Hitler in 1938.

But... remember how that one actually turned out?

One difference: Hitler didn't have nukes.

I'm not hearing the least skepticism on the news as I type this.

I expect that to change VERY soon.

When I hear the following:

U.S. and other countries have sent inspectors into every plant associated with Iran's nuclear effot, and all of them report that they witnesses Iran's nuclear processing plants being shut down, the machinery removed, and ALL of Iran's nuclear capability being reduced to the levels demanded by the major world powers. Iran is now fully in compliance with the major powers' requirements.

Furthermore, Iran has fully agreed that the inspectors will stay in place, with complete ability to videotape, film, capture, and othewise record and broadcast everything going on in ALL plants at any time they want, with no interference.

When I hear that on all major news channels, THEN it will be "news".

Until then, it's just the "civilized" world falling for another middle Eastern lie. Hardly news at all.

Iran, six world powers clinch breakthrough nuclear deal

GENEVA (Reuters) - Iran and six world powers reached a breakthrough agreement early on Sunday to curb Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for limited sanctions relief, in a first step towards resolving a dangerous decade-old standoff.

The deal between the Islamic state and the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia was nailed down after more than four days of negotiations.

"We have reached an agreement," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on his Twitter feed. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius also confirmed the deal.

Iran will get access to $4.2 billion in foreign exchange as part of the accord, a Western diplomat said. No other details of the agreement were immediately available.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and foreign ministers of the five other world powers joined the negotiations with Iran early on Saturday as the two sides appeared to be edging closer to a long-sought preliminary agreement.
Iran got what they wanted. They can continue to enrich uranium, a critical step towards making a nuclear bomb. But don't worry we can trust the Iranians. They say they won't build bombs from the uranium. Our closest ally in the Middle East detests the agreement. Way to go Kerry and Obama.

Our "closest ally" is a burden to the US, they don't want peace and do absolutely nothing towards a solution in the middle east.

Uh; that gave the Nazis more time for them to start stuff. Word was the UK and France should've gone into Germany a couple of years before but were too scared.

I don't think that this deal is anywhere close to being in the top 100 concerns of the American people.

As obama said in 2008....."Iran is just a small country that can't harm America in any way.".

But, when you have as many failures under your belt as obama has, with the complete and utter failure of obamacare hanging around his neck, anything that can be used as a distraction will be done.

NBC news, aka. OPNN (obama protection news network) hasn't mentioned obamacare in about a week.

Here it is, one hour into morning joe, and every story has been talked about except obamacare.

They spent a lot of time talking about Iran, however.

Wait....bill krystol is on.....oh...still only discussing Iran.

Indeed, you wasted your time, and only proved with your posts that you have no clue of history, like most Americans, brainwashed to an astounding degree by their nationalistic, racist, fascist governments...
