I was 22 when I voted for McCain, so not everyone was stupid enough to follow the "cool trend" in that election. Either way, you should vote for the person who ideas more closely resemble your own; I'm sure most Obama supporters don't even know why they voted for him.
I would argue that grandparents voting in this technological world are just as misinformed, if not more so then their grandkids
A 30 year old and an 18 year old may both be equally misinformed. However, the 30 year old has much more life experience and maturity than the 18 year old.

I do believe it should remain the same, but I don't think your assessment is accurate. I know a lot of young people and they are not really all that informed. They are too busy with school, having fun, working part time and have no real world skills yet or enough experience to be all that well informed. Ii takes more than reading something on the net to fully understand the country.
We also shouldn't allow anyone to vote that doesn't have a college education, shouldn't allow old people over the age of 60 to vote that have no idea how advanced the world has gotten, and also restrict people who believe in whacko religions.

Please explain how a person with a doctorate in Bio-chemistry who is a professor has a better grasp on issues of Poverty and related issues than a person with a high school diploma that works for a Food Bank?
I would say raise it to age 25. Young-and-dumb kids should have no business voting. When people are young, they usually have a naive outlook on life. They wanna "save the world" and other such nonsense. You can't expect people with such an idealistic outlook to make rational decisions when it comes to voting.
Which is too often reinforced by overly idealistic and naive teachers. I say this as a teacher that overheard a coworker a few years ago tell a class that Obama has not made a mistake as president, when a lone boy tried to bring up an example, the teacher interrupted (refused to listen to the student) and repeated the claim that Obama has not made a mistake as president.
you wanna raise the age limit then raise the age limit of the young men and women who fight our wars. old enough to serve your country, old enough and aware enough to vote.
I agree. That being said, I frankly think that age should be raised too. I voted raise it to 21, with that condition.
