There is so much lying and scamming for charitable $$$, sympathy etc. anymore I have become very careful about where my charitable dollars go. Remember 9/11, when so much money was given to help the victims, yet much of it was absorbed by charitable organizations. This goes on all the time. Once some kind of disaster hits, organizations are on TV asking for contributions. So individuals have learned from them and are getting in on the action also.
The earthquake in Haiti was another one.
All that money and these big organizations are still holding on to it.

Our charitable donations have all but come to a standstill. We give a bit here and there, but most of our energy goes into giving food to foodbanks where we are confident there is a need. The commercialization of charity has all but forced us to seriously reconsider who we give actual money to, all because of the reasons you speak of.
First it was a black racist, and now it's a homosexual bigot. What other kinds of great citizens will liberal social policy produce? I'm anxious to find out!

I hate when people do this, when it comes out that it's untrue, the person just looks like an idiot. Why would you put yourself thru that?
Their receipt and CC bill make for one heck of a smoking gun. The restaurant should be able to verify it pretty easily, unless their bookkeeping is very poor.
It's great that she wants to raise money for Wounder Warrior instead of lining her own pockets, but there are better ways to go about it.
Gee, now we know why the restaurant can't find the original receipt..this girl took it home with her and posted it on her Facebook account.

Seriously. I usually put everyone on a credit card to get the rewards, but the more stories I hear about this, the more I think I will start paying cash when I go out to eat.
This would be the SECOND time someone was accused of writing a nasty note on their bill, and this one has PROOF of dishonesty. No tip for being Gay? Then why does the couple's receipt AND their visa bill show a total that includes a tip?
Even MORE telling is the fact that this couple says they didn't vote for their current governor, because he was AGAINST Gay marriage!
a similar report, but not to do with gays came up on another forum dealing with cruises and tips. I questioned that one as well. I could see a resemblance between the comment, the handwriting, and so on. This is the big problem with social media, someone starts a thread, people jump on it and no one knows what is real and what is made up:
This is similar to the cases in which racial slurs, supposedly written on dorm doors, churches, etc., by bigots were actually written by the "victims," themselves.
I questioned it from the beginning, anyway. After all, that is what I'd have done in such a case...called CNN.

How in the world can straight couples see "gayness" that easily?
