Denton does admit there is one change to existing US law, something only a maximalist would be happy to see -- a provision that would allow rights holders to pursue criminal charges against those who "aid and abet" copyright infringement. Great news! That means you no longer have to actually infringe to be held criminally accountable. All you have to do is be adjacent to it.

It is basically the one thing the left and the Tea Party 100% agree on that it is an abomination and it needs to be stopped.

Yes, there is unfortunately much that isn't even out there to see. The implications here are enormous. The fact that this has become common place is truly amazing.
However, the copyright being used as a blank check has been tied in with other internet activities. It seems to have been chosen as the easy method of choice.
What defines being "adjacent" to infringement? EFF had some "experts" chime in on issues they see with copyright abuse.
