You're right. We should do what we want, because we're the USA! And not do what works well for the world at large and provides better outcomes for a better price

Second hand smoke is more dangerous than car emissions.
Big Pharma cares about your health (rather than your $$$).
The Federal Government being involved in local education is a good thing.
China is going to keep lending us money ad infinitum. Debt? What Debt?
ACA will lower the cost of healthcare.
If you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't need to be concerned about Big Brother's access to your conversations, email, online activity, etc.
The price of gas is reasonable.
Just b/c the IRS is intricately interwoven with ACA, no worries about your personal and medical information being shared with any other agency in the country.
Wages are going up.
Fructose is the reason people in this country are fat.
We don't need manufacturing jobs in this country to survive in a global economy.

It sounds nice in theory, but it just doesn't work like that. And we can't keep making decisions based on what sounds nice in theory. Trickle down sounded nice in theory too. But (and I'm sure you're about to disagree), it didn't work at all.
