Why should wal-mart have to pay the bill, when it was GM or whatever who moved their low skilled jobs to Mexico?

I just don't see it.

Wal-Mart shouldn't have to shoulder the economic burden of the society who has given people no ability other than the ability to stock shelves or ring up a cash register

Are you sure about that?

Raising the minimum wage would cause all of the following:
1. increase in price.
2. jobs going to other low wage countries
3. more automation

Have you seen the auto-checkout in many retail stores? Do you know what that means and why they are there? See #3 above.

GM moved their jobs because the labor cost in USA has risen too high which is the direct result of raising minimum wage.

Nobody is talking about Walmart here. The point is that your so-called solution fails for people who can't afford education or training.

How does a higher US minimum wage cause higher Big Mac sales in India?

This is an interesting read in today's Times: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com...p&rref=opinion
Let's keep in mind that the government has no money in actuality. The government takes money from some people and passes it on to others.

So, whenever the "government should pay" or "the government should subsidize" is used, what that actually means is "other people should pay".

Centuries of market economics tells us your contention is wrong. What tells you that your contention is right?
Well just look at the economies of countries with lower minimum wages than us and the ones with higher wages than us. I believe you'll find the ones with higher are far more ideal and a good example of what we could expect
